Solution Focused Hypnotherapy

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy – where neuroscience, talking therapy and hypnosis come together

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a safe, relaxing and enjoyable process that focuses on the present and on your positive vision of the future to help you make significant changes in your life in a relatively short period of time – it usually only takes approximately 6 sessions (or less) to see substantial changes.

Crucially, in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, we look at what you want to achieve (the solution) rather than at whatever prompted you to seek help (the problem). Through focusing on the positive things in your life, we can essentially rewire the brain to help create the best version of you – how you want your life to be, rather than on old habits and ways of thinking that you want to leave behind.

Hypnotherapy is a combination of Psychotherapy and Hypnosis and is a collaborative process – change happens because you want it to and because you’re willing and committed to take the necessary steps to allow it to happen.

Hypnosis or ‘trance’ is a very natural, relaxing state, encouraged by using guided relaxation, where the mind can relax and then focus on thoughts and suggestions that can help to change your mindset and your life. I encourage clients to focus on what we call the 3 Ps as these will help to create serotonin in our brains which helps us to feel good and the more serotonin we create, the better we feel:

  • Positive thoughts – gratitude, appreciation and generally looking for the positive in situations
  • Positive actions – these can be exercise in any form including walks or gardening but can also include hobbies and things you do for pleasure
  • Positive interactions – any kind of interactions that we have with other people which are enjoyable and positive whether in person, on the phone, on Zoom, Whatsapp etc

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a modern psychotherapeutic approach, based on latest neuroscience and draws from various different techniques used in Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Neuro-linguistic Programming.
