I was born and raised in Southampton but, after many years living away, I felt drawn back to Hampshire and have lived happily in the lovely market town of Romsey near the edge of the New Forest since 2004.
I have more than 25 years’ experience working for the local authority in education, teaching and training with a special focus on working with young children with special educational needs and their families.
I have also developed a personal interest in mental health over the years as a result of my own challenges and those of friends and family. Having a now grown up son with autism has taught me a huge amount about patience, resilience and the strengths we can discover within ourselves. In addition, I suffered with Long Covid which I feel has given me more of an understanding of its long-term effects and how I can give hope to fellow sufferers and help them to take some control back in their lives.
I chose to study with Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training and undertook more than 400 hours of study and clinical practice to successfully receive my Diploma for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (DSFH) as well as the externally accredited Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma (HPD) from the National Council for Hypnotherapy. Due to lockdown most of our training took place remotely via Zoom, however this just confirmed how effective hypnotherapy can be when clients receive it on line in the comfort of their own homes. I’ve been amazed at the life changing results that hypnotherapy can bring about in only a few sessions, including helping my husband to finally give up smoking so easily!
I am a member of the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and National Council for Hypnotherapy and adhere to their code of ethics including a commitment to undertake regular training for my continued professional development as well as regular supervision sessions with an accredited supervisor. I am a certified Mental Health First Aider and a Makaton sign language tutor.
I can offer face to face sessions in my therapy room in Romsey in Hampshire, but can also offer sessions safely and securely online using Zoom. I am DBS checked and have public liability insurance.
